Keizersgracht, Amsterdam

We were challenged with creating an open & contemporary space, ideal for social gatherings but complete with ‘cozy moments’ for day-to-day living and R&R

Inspired by traditional Japanese baths we introduced a wall of slatted timber with recessed lighting, & a secret door leading to a bespoke closet finished in smoked oak. Both new & old furniture items were sourced, & we worked alongside a local craftsman to produce a custom dining table, made from burnt ash protected in epoxy.

In the bathroom an intimate corner was planned, using a modern twist on traditional wainscotting, hand-picked marble flooring provides an element of luxury whilst black accessories and wall lighting sit back to the scheme.

Elsewhere, a TV ‘den’ featuring made-to-measure timberwork works in conjunction with marble cladding, whilst vintage Scolari lighting adorns the walls.

The end result is an eclectic mix of materials & styles with moments of grandeur coupled with areas for contemplation and R&R.
